Today was one of those lazy forenoon type mornings. We had breakfast at our casa and and then I spent ages playing with the little kitten in that location which looked just like Milly, and so of grade, I was in dear!! LOL!

Cute little Millycat (We miss you Milly even though in Catland you think you take been abased!)

We then did another little wander about the town. Nosotros went down to cheque out San Juan de Dios Square. We wanted to go into a museum they had downwardly there but we were told it was airtight. Meandering our way dorsum nosotros chosen into the El Gato Azul gallery which had some pretty awesome paintings – all super bright and colourful.

We then continued on our manner back to the main square and called into Casa de Arte Jover which is a house owned by two artists Joel Jover and his wife Ileana Sanchez (Every bit it would turn out Ileana is the creative person of the paintings at El Gato Azul and when we were in that location we were talking to Joel!!). They own a beautiful quondam casa what is wall to ceiling of their artwork and a number of antiques and little knick-knack treasures.

Can't get plenty of the cute doorways

Next up, more art! For this we wandered into Plaza del Carmen. There is an artist Martha Jiménez Pérez who does a whole heap of sculptures which are places throughout the square – possibly the most famous of them beingness the 'Gossiping Ladies'. Inside the plaza in that location was also a gallery of her work as, equally well as sculptures, she is also a painter. There were and so many beautiful pieces there.

And another

From here we grabbed ourselves a bike taxi to head out to El Lago de los Suenos (ie The Lake of Dreams). It was quite a way and boy was our taxi driver sweating by the time we got out there! LOL! Lake of Dreams sounds pretty fancy correct?!?! However, we accept renamed it the Lake of Dreams that once were! It sounded cool, information technology should take been absurd, still feel a little apartment. The identify is a muddied lake that is surrounded by footling huts and shops which should be interesting given that they are held within former planes and trains, just without any gusto from anyone working there is was a bit of a bomb.

We did, however, manage to score ourselves a cheap MN lunch. A lot of what we requested and asked for was lost in translation, customer service is lost on a lot of Cubans.

We didn't hang around long and headed for the main route to try and flag downwardly another bike taxi. The one we got this fourth dimension was a gun!! He put music on and just powered his way back into the main foursquare, we couldn't believe how fast he rode!

Standing walking up the cobbled streets we called into a bookstore. Anthony got talking to the lady there who was also interested in learning more than English. We then went back to the park to check the net to try and book some adaptation for our adjacent cease. Booking accommodation is turning out to be a lot more fourth dimension consuming than we would like. It is a petty frustrating every bit AirBnb doesn't totally work so you can only message people through it but not really book anything when y'all are in Cuba.

Making our way domicile Anthony stopped to get an ice-cream that was basically around 20 cents. And so we went dorsum to our room to but arctic out for a fiddling while.

This is what nosotros were greeted with at the door to our room when we got home – LOL!

For dinner we headed out to Meson del Principe where we had tried to go last night but was fully booked. After ordering a Greek lady came in and was sitting by herself so nosotros invited her to join usa for dinner which she gladly accepted. We had some great discussions with her nigh the casa renting system in Cuba which is creating this massive inequality with the residents. The people who were provided houses by the government are now able to hire rooms out and make so, then, and so much more than those in a profession. For example, a dentist would earn nearly $80 CUC a month, where a person with a house tin can earn $25 CUC per night if they have their place rented.

Awesomely coloured houses line every street

Later on dinner we were on our own again and headed out to Casa la Trova to listen to some local music. Nosotros institute it was more than like a hangout for all the local young people. It was surprising they were all so trendy and well dressed. Music didn't actually seem to be the focus of the place. Eventually we had enough and went home.

Arriving dwelling house we got to hang out on the street for quite awhile before our casa owner answered and permit us in. When he eventually answered the door we retrieve he told us he had had too many drinks and barbarous comatose! LOL!
